MARSH is seeking candidates for the position of Head of Mercer Marsh Benefits based in the Uganda, Kampala office:

Key Growth Objectives

  • Integrate MMC and Marsh wide solutions in a consultative approach to deliver the firm to prospective clients and drive systematic growth within the MMB division.  
  • Lead, develop and pro-actively seek out new business opportunities across the broader Marsh business (Advisory, Specialty, Risk Management, etc.) integrating the MMB business.
  • Drive the development of client centric solutions, articulate and present these as required.
  • Assume leadership and ownership of the sales cycle within MMB Uganda.
  • Secure client wins in targeted industries.
  • Ensure effective cross-selling between Marsh divisions.
  • Coordinate cross-sell and upsell programs with Marsh General Lines and Mercer.
  • Accelerate the MMB Uganda cross-sell programme through targeted industry-specific campaigns and introduction of new campaigns.
  • Meet or exceed the agreed revenue targets.
  • Develop relationships with markets and key client decision makers.
  • Design and coordinate with Marketing Growth Events with Clients and Prospects.

Execution of Sales Strategy

  • Owns MMB Uganda Sales budget with special focus on large ticket and RFP opportunities.
  • Responsible for the development and delivery of the sales strategy in partnership with the Leader: MMB Uganda.  
  • Lead sales financials at monthly sales meetings and management committee meetings.
  • Leads by example managing and driving presentations to key prospects and clients.
  • Align sales strategy and execution to key strategic pillars such as BBE and an Industry approach. 
  • Ensures alignment with core segment, industry, specialty, and matrix leaders.
  • Supports written RFP responses through the impact, operations and analytics teams. 
  • Drive operational excellence in sales across the region, resulting in sales revenue growth. 

Talent Management

  • Train the local MMB Uganda team in delivering MMB Value Proposition with BBE approach.
  • Coordinating and motivating the MMB Uganda team members.
  • Leads individual goal setting and business planning for divisions under management and helps them adopt successful behaviors that lead to results and goal achievement.
  • Works relevant stakeholders to understand and train colleagues in the differentiated value propositions and general advancement of sales skills.

Funnel Management and Forecasting

  • Lead the development and execution of monthly sales financial packs to support and enable the MMB Uganda business development team. 
  • Maintains funnel and ensures funnel integrity at required levels according to agreed KPI’s.
  • Will drive disciplined use of MPower as one of the key enablers.
  • Will submit monthly pipeline, forecast and month closing sales reports with special focus on large ticket and RFPs.
