Overview:

URC is seeking an experienced District-Based Integrated Program Officer for the Busoga region (Jinja City/Jinja District) for the USAID Uganda Health Activity (UHA), a five-year program. The purpose of UHA is to support the Government of Uganda’s (GOU’s) efforts to increase the survival and well-being of vulnerable populations and improve overall health system resilience in seven priority regions. The program will strengthen the quality and availability of MNCH, FP/RH, nutrition, facility-level WASH services, and health systems at the regional-, district-, facility-, and community levels.

Responsibilities:

The district-based Integrated Program Officer is responsible for the project’s clinical/HSS liaison person at each of the assigned districts within in the UHA project scope. He/she will be embedded within the assigned project DHO offices.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide technical support for the implementation of Family health interventions (Child Health, Maternal Health, Family Planning, Nutrition, GHS).
  • Coordinate all UHA field activities in the 2 districts, working closely with UHA Advisors
  • Coordinate HSS interventions including performance reviews, DQAs, PFM, HRH, M&E, support supervision, supply chain, IP coordination meetings, and mentorships.
  • Support the integration of quality improvement approaches into health services delivery at the health facilities within the districts.
  • Coordinate community systems strengthening activities.
  • Closely support the project M&E team, and individual project staff in ensuring the reporting of health facility results on a quarterly and monthly basis (hospital performance reviews)
