Country Manager- Uganda

We connect merchants to world-class shipping carriers around the globe through one API and dashboard. With our products and solutions, we level the playing field by providing our customers with best-in-class solutions that otherwise wouldn’t be available. We provide our e-commerce businesses, marketplaces and platforms with the most competitive shipping rates, print labels, automated international documents, shipment tracking, facilitate the returns process and more.

Your core responsibilities will include:


● Sales/Operational Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the sales and operational teams, ensuring alignment with the company’s overarching goals and objectives.

● Sales Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains across all sales functions, from order fulfillment to inventory management.

● Vendor and Partner Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and partners to optimize service levels, negotiate contracts, and drive operational excellence.

● Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing operational team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
● Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the performance of operational processes and teams, and drive accountability for results.

● Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards, and develop strategies to mitigate operational risks effectively.

We are looking for someone with:

Core requirements to perform responsibilities:
● Work experience in a fast-growing tech startup and/or launching new products in a larger organization.
● Strong knowledge of the eCommerce and shipping market in Africa.
● Able to lead and scale up 10x a cross-functional team.
● Able to build HR, Finance and Ops functions.
● Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
● Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
● High attention to detail even under pressure and tight deadlines.

Bonus points/nice to have

● Work experience with eCommerce and/or logistics in Africa/Middle East.
● MBA degree
